Mediterranean Living at Home
Olive Trees in Many Forms and Inspiring WPC Terrace Solutions
Located in the park of the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, Pálmaház Garden Centre opened its doors to gardening enthusiasts in 2015. With its elegant exterior reminiscent of royal times and its inviting interior, it provides a unique setting for plant lovers. The nursery offers a wide selection ranging from flowering perennials and ornamental trees to hedging plants and Mediterranean specialties, making it one of the richest plant assortments in Gödöllő and the surrounding area.
At the Garden Expo, one of the most iconic plants of the Mediterranean atmosphere—the olive tree—is presented in detail within an inspiring display area. Visitors can explore its various forms, including ancient-trunk specimens, half-standard, quarter-standard, bush, and even bonsai shapes. They can also gain practical insights into how olive trees can be successfully cultivated in Hungary. The presentation covers sunlight requirements, watering, overwintering, as well as whether the plant thrives better in the ground or in containers.
The exhibition also features a Mediterranean-style terrace setting, where, alongside olive trees, a variety of WPC decking styles are showcased. The different colours and surface finishes provide inspiration for creating an outdoor living space that is both close to nature and modern, as well as durable over time.
